Background & CV

I am a Ph.D. candidate in the School of Earth and Space Exploration (formerly the Department of Geological Sciences) working under Dr. Ramon Arrowsmith in his Active Tectonics Research Group. My research interests include geoinformatics, tectonic geomorphology and paleoseismology. Please see my research page for more info on what I'm currently working on.

BACKGROUND:
Originally from Lincoln, MA, I made the cross-country move after high school to attended Whitman College in Walla Walla, WA. As a geology major at Whitman, my thesis was on paleoseismology of the northern San Andreas fault at Fort Ross, CA. I completed this work as part of a Keck Geology Consortium undergraduate research project.

After a summer at Indiana University Field Camp in the Tobacco Root Mtns of MT, I moved to the U.S. Geological Survey in Menlo Park, CA. There, I worked for Dr. Carol Prentice in the Western Earthquake Hazards Team. A one year internship stretched into a three year job as research assistant. Most of my time was devoted to paleoseismology research projects but I also spent a significant portion of my time on a project related to uplift of marine terraces along the Northern California coast. Working for the Survey was an outstanding experience largely due to extensive field work in California and internationally (Trinidad, Puerto Rico, New Zealand). After three years at the USGS, I made the decision to return to school and ended up here at ASU. During the summer of 2006 I completed my Master's degree at ASU and have decide to stay on to complete a Ph.D.
