lightness
n. 1. The quality or condition of being illuminated. 2. Color The dimension of the color of an object by which the object appears to reflect or transmit more or less of the incident light, varying from black to white for surface colors and from black to colorless for transparent volume colors. 3. The L component of some color spaces (models) such as HSL and L*a*b.
limitation
n. 1. The act of limiting or the state of being limited. 2. A restriction. 3. A shortcoming or defect. 4. Law A specified period during which, by statute, an action may be brought.
