3.1.2 Exercise Example

Black and white equal

Description
Exercise 3.1.2 is a mixing/matching exercise based on color lightness.

Terms
(1) lightness (see Glossary).

Task
Mix black and white to make grays that match each color lightness.

Considerations
  • What is the duplex-color lightness order?
  • What is the duplex-color lightness gamut?
  • What is the edge quality between the duplex colors and grays?

Notes
The edge between the gray and color shows the match quality. A softer edge is a better match. A sharp edge shows that there is no match.
