Supplies

Listed below are the majority of the materials for the year. Some items are expendable and will need replacement. Make no substitutions for listed brands and sizes. Individual personal supplies may vary particularly for final projects.

General Materials and Tools
  • Technical drawing pencil
  • Pelikan Plaka* paint – Black 50 ml jar; as needed
  • Pelikan Plaka* paint – White 50 ml jar; as needed
  • Windsor Newton Sceptre 101 (or equivalent) brushes (2 the same size) – size 4 (or equivalent)
  • Windsor Newton series 680 (or equivalent) 1" brush
  • Water containers and mixing tray (or equivalent)
  • Laser printer paper (or equivalent) – sub. 20; as needed
  • Index Card Stock 8 1/2 x 11; or biology paper; or Strathmore 342 Bristol Weight Board (or equivalent); as needed
  • Strathmore 342 bristol-weight board pad (or equivalent) 11 x 14; as needed
  • 30/60 degree triangle – 12" size
  • 45 degree triangle – 12" size
  • Schaedler Precision Rule set (or equivalent millimeter scale)
  • Xacto knife handle no. 1 size (or equivalent)
  • Xacto knife blades no. 11 size – 100 blade pkg. (or equivalent)
  • Cutting mat
  • Metal straight edge
  • Scissors
  • Scotch 811 Magic Plus tape 3/4 x 72yd; as needed
  • Mounting adhesive (no spray); as needed
  • Clear plastic sheet protectors 8 1/2 x 11; as needed
  • Clear plastic photo protectors 11 x 14; as needed
  • Clear plastic photo protectors 16 x 20; as needed
  • Black three-ring binder 8 1/2 x 11 x 1 1/2

*Black and white gesso may be substituted for Plaka, however, do not mix gesso and Plaka.
