LEML
RESEARCH
Research areas at LEML include: Landscape Ecology, Urban Ecology, Ecological Modeling, and Sustainability Science.

Our current research projects focus on: effects of landscape pattern on population/ecosystem processes, urbanization and its ecological consequences, biodiversity and ecosystem functioning, and land change science.

Our research has involved a variety of ecosystems from North America to China.   While the geographic idiosyncracy of ecology must be recognized, it is research questions that drive our studies.  Our research approaches combine theoretical and empirical methods, with an emphasis on the use of modeling, spatial statistics, GIS, and remote sensing.
