Research Area

I assist in Dr. Rege's research on polymeric gene delivery as part of combination therapies for the treatment of prostate cancer. Cationic polymers are used to bind plasmid DNA and deliver it selectively to prostate cancer cells, where it will be expressed and induce apoptosis. I will focus on improving the cancer cells' uptake of DNA/polymer complexes (polyplexes), investigation of cytotoxicity, cell death mechanisms, and intracellular trafficking of the polyplexes.
