My research group at ASU, here shown in the Henry Mountains, Utah - Roman DiBiase
and Drew Stolar in foreground, Kelin Whipple in the far background.  The channel that
Roman and Drew are standing in has been carved in the last ~50 years, and Joel Johnson
(not in photo - one of Kelin's students) has been studying its evolution over the past few years.

I am interested in the processes that shape the earth over both long and short time scales. My research involves numerical modeling, DEM analysis, and field studies of landscape evolution. For more information, take a look at the links below.

That's me at the Briksdal Glacier Park, Jostedalsbreen, Norway, on a field trip with the Yale Geology and Geophysics Department, August, 2004. This rock has been scoured by the glacier, which is now retreating. Most of my work focuses on rivers, although glaciers are also important erosive agents.
