Biography

Miss Allen was prominent in the National Education Association in the late 19th-century. In the 1880s, she was an active member of the NEA department of music education. She attended the 1903 NEA meeting in Boston, where she was elected to the Committee of Ten. The committee was responsible for addressing the needs of music educators in the NEA. She attended the 1904 meeting.

Miss Allen was the music teacher at Peoria, IL High School in 1907. She was not listed in the 1908 directory of district employees. She does not appear in either the 1902 or 1911 Peoria High School Yearbooks.
