Both articles reflect her passion and dedication for music education. The following quote from the 1926 article presents an insight to her philosophy of music education:

Some knowledge of music and art is needed in the education of every individual; it is of practical use to the business man, the professional man, the day laborer, the capitalist, and to the father and mother in the home. Men who have charge of our civic affairs need some knowledge and appreciation of art and music. Churches and Sunday schools and all civic gatherings need a people who can participate in and appreciate music. The "tired business man" needs some knowledge of music to make his leisure more interesting. He must be educated in his youth, so that his adult life may be made richer.
