The title of our project, "Words Over Water," is centered on the idea of an "Abecedario del Río Salado," or multicultural story alphabet of the Salt River, which characterizes our multiple-perspective team's response to finding and making the most essential words over water the river and this lake have to offer.
Our team--all with strong public art backgrounds--consists of poet Alberto Ríos; artist, painter, and typographer Harry Reese; and printer, papermaker, and arts administrator Karla Elling.
