Why

Meaning, not simply decoration

Our project is a search for meaning, which is intrinsically interesting. Rather than decoration, our Abecedario is a connection to the past and the future, to water and lack of water, to people and place.  Abecedario is Spanish for abecedarium, which is a primer for learning the alphabet, and for then using it to find and create meaning..
Abecedario, stemming from the first four letters of the alphabet, also has in its spelling the Spanish words for thirst--sed, and water--río, and to give--dar. Language, and connections like this, rise like a Phoenix out of the land in all cultures.  Our project will let the stories of  this place tell themselves.

A lake is the landscape's most beautiful and expressive feature. It is earth's eye; looking into which the beholder measures the depth of his own nature.
