Research interests

Radioisotope chronology and chemistry of planetary materials, processes and timescales of planetary accretion and differentiation, analytical chemistry.

Analytical and instrumentation experience

- Mass spectrometry: Pb-Pb, Al-Mg, Lu-Hf, and Sm-Nd radiogenic systems and isotope analyses by Multi-Collector ICP-MS (VG Elemental Plasma 54 and Thermo Finnigan Neptune). Rb, Sr, Sm, Nd, U and Pb isotope analyses by TIMS (Fisons VG Sector 54-30 and 54E). Trace element analyses by quadripole ICP-MS (VG Elemental Plasmaquad 2+ and Thermo-Optek X7 CTT).

- Analytical developments in clean lab for ultra-low blank purification procedures for Pb-Pb, Al-Mg, Lu-Hf, and Sm-Nd dating of meteorites. Rb-Sr, Sm-Nd, Lu-Hf, and U-Pb separation techniques for terrestrial igneous rock and mineral isotope studies.

- Electron microprobe, focused ion beam and scanning electron microscopes for petrographic studies.

- Mineral and inclusion separation techniques for meteorites and terrestrial igneous rocks.
