Bitterwater Canyon aerial photograph and geomorphic map. These data and
reconnaissance mapping
indicate that the site is in an area of interfingering fluvial deposits
from Bitterwater Creek and alluvial material from a gully draining the
Temblor Range. The SAF rips through the material producing a positive
relief moletrack (1 m relief) in the southeast, and a southwest-facing, 1-2 m
high scarp in the northwest portion of the site. We observed coarse and
fine material exposed in an incised drainage immediately northwest of this
detailed scene. The aerial photograph is from the Fairchild Aerial
Photography Collection at Whittier College.
