Active thrust and strike-slip faulting in the Northern Pamirs.

This page shows some recent geomorphic mapping that Manfred Strecker, Mischa Kornilov, and I completed this summer in the foothills of the Trans Alai Range, Northern Pamir Mountains, Kyrgyz Republic.

This first set of figures documents the thrust offset of aggradational terraces and a glacial moraine along the west side of the Komansu River.

The second set of figures documents strike-slip offset of gullies cut into an inferred late Pleistocene moraine along the west side of the Altyndara River in the western portion of the Alai region.
