Adam Symonds.  Director of Forensics  at Arizona State University.  Coached teams to the semifinals of CEDA Nationals and the quarterfinals of the NDT in previous coaching positions at CSU Fullerton and USC.  Former CEDA Nationals champion.

2011  ADI Faculty

Dave Hingstman.  Director of Forensics at the University of Iowa who has coached an NDT champion and several first-round teams.

Glen Frappier.  Director of Forensics at Gonzaga who has coached numerous first-round teams.  Former CEDA Nationals champion.

Sue Peterson.  Director of Forensics at Chico State University.  Former Director at Pepperdine and coach at CSU, Fullerton.  Former co-Director of the SCUDL.

Jason Russell.  University of Oklahoma, Coached 2009 AND 2010 CEDA National Champions. Also coached the Copeland runner-up and undefeated CEDA National Champion in 2006-07.

Sarah Lundeen.  Coach at the State University of West Georgia. Coached multiple NDT first round at-large bid teams. Two-time CEDA Nationals champion.

Theresa Perry.   Coach CSU Chico.  Expertise working with novice and junior varsity students.  Developer of ADI Coaches’ Curriculum. 

In addition to these full-time staff members, the labs will be supported by research assistants, comprised of senior-level debaters in their final year of competition who have distinguished themselves as outstanding competitors. Past fellows have included Greta Stahl, Mike Greenstein, Michael Klinger, Deven Cooper, Alex Lamballe, Brittany Cambre, Leah Moczulski, and Eric Lanning.  

Toni Nielson.  Assistant Director of Forensics at CSU Fullerton.  Premier coach and innovator of performance arguments. Coached elim teams at CEDA and the NDT.

Steve Pointer.  Assistant Director of Debate at Gonzaga University.  Pointer has an extensive background in academic debate, competing and/or coaching at schools such Whitman, Lewis and Clark, and UMKC.
