Professor Scheatzle, FAIA, has a BS Architecture from Kent State University,
a MS Engineering from Arizona State University; and a Doctorate in architecture
(ArchD) from The University of Michigan. Dr. Scheatzle's research is on comfort
control with special interest in integrating passive and active residential
systems to reduce energy consumption. Radiant Cooling is of particular interest.
He is active in technical committees of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating
and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) relating to human comfort and radiant
heating and cooling. Dr. Scheatzle has taught courses in energy, acoustics,
lighting, electrical, plumbing and fire protection. As a registered architect
and a professional engineer he is a member of the American Institute of Architects,
ASHRAE, and the Society of Building Science Educators.
