Psychological Preparation for a Better Perfomance

This workshop for coaches consisted of a discussion of psychological skills for which members of the audience desired additional information.  The ensuing presentation consisted of an in-depth discussion of techniques such a relaxation, modeling/motor imagery, staleness/burnout, arousal control, team cohesiveness, and communication skills.  Once these techniques were described, examples of practical applications were given.  In addition, members of the audience brought up specific probelms they were having with athletes and suggestions were given in dealing with these specific psychological problems.
