Lodging and local information

Lodging: There are many possibilities for hotels in Tempe and surrounding areas. The conference has not reserved any blocks. The closest hotels to the ASU campus are the Twin Palms Hotel, the Tempe Mission Palms, and the Four Points. In addition, the Residence Inn by Marriott is under construction and may be open by the time of the conference. A list of hotels can be found here.

Transportation: Tempe has a surprisingly robust public transportation system; in addition to metro-wide bus lines, there is also a system of free Orbit busses as well as a light-rail line. Information on public transit options can be found here.

Parking: The conference will be held in the Languages and Literatures Building, at what would be the SE corner of College and University, if College went through the campus. There is parking at the Fulton lot (NE corner of College and University) as well as on University between Forest and Myrtle. Parking is free on the weekends (Saturday and Sunday). Airport: Phoenix Sky Harbor airport is about 15-minutes by car from the ASU-Tempe campus. There is a people-mover that takes you from Terminal 4 to the light rail station. To reach the university, take the eastbound train (Sycamore/Mesa) to the Veteran's Way/Tempe Transportation Center station.
