The Dibner Institute Seminar Program in the History of Biology occurs at the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, Massachusetts. This historically-rich research facility has one of the world's finest biology libraries, and the library staff supports the Dibner Seminar each year.

The Seminars brings historians, philosophers, social scientists, and biologists together to explore the history of the biological sciences. Each year focuses on a defined topic, and the lively and intense discussion continues all week, ranging through classroom presentations, discussions, small group sessions, over dining hall meals, in dorm rooms, in the library and Rare Books Room, at the beach, and on into the nights.

The program began in 1989, supported by the Dibner Fund, and has continued as the Dibner Institute Seminar Series since 1991.
