Cyprus Peacebuilding Efforts

Since 1994 Professor Broome has been involved in peace-building efforts in Cyprus, offering workshops, training programs, seminars, and design sessions in communication, inter-group relations, and conflict resolution for bi-communal groups of Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots.  He served three terms in residence as Senior Fulbright Fellow in Cyprus (during 1994, 1995, and 1996), and he has returned to the island numerous times since resuming his teaching duties in the United States.  He has organized and facilitated several "four-party" seminars involving academics, diplomats, NGOs, and community leaders from Turkey, Greece, and the two communities of Cyprus.
