This course will introduce students to strategies, formats, and techniques of presenting information to business and other workplace audiences.
On completion of this course, students will be able to:
This course will be conducted as a hybrid. Beginning the week of August 29th, we will meet on campus for Tuesday class sessions; Thursday class sessions will be conducted using Blackboard. Presentations, however, will be scheduled for both Tuesdays and Thursdays (October 19 to November 2) so that everyone will have time to present. For those days, you are expected to be in class on campus for both Tuesday and Thursday presentation dates. Review all information in the syllabus, assignments, and Schedule. Be sure you understand what will be expected of you. All assignments are expected to be completed on time. See course evaluation section below for information on grading and Blackboard for information on assignments and due dates.

All assignments are to be completed and turned in by the due date listed in the Schedule. For each day an assignment is submitted late, one point will be deducted from the earned grade. For example, if your assignment is turned in 3 days late and your earned grade is 3 pts; your final grade for the assignment will be 0 pts. Throughout this course, you will be composing documents for a variety of audiences and purposes. Your writing should at all times be professional and consist of proper tone, style, formatting, language, and grammar.
