Fall 2006: ChE543 Thermodynamics of Chemical Systems
This course provides a review of classical thermodynamics by beginning with Newtonian mechanics and deriving
all thermodynamical properties through the use of postulates.
The objective of this course are three fold:
- Enable deep comprehension of classical thermodynamics. This involves applying concepts to
different areas than originally exposed and understanding the limitations of the calculations.
- Provide framework to solve complex chemical engineering problems with thermodynamic concepts.
- Demonstrate applicability of thermodynamics to real problems
