Electronic Document Scenario

You are part of a team who is working to bring the Super Bowl to the Phoenix metropolitan area in 2008. Most of this project will involve convincing others that the Valley of the Sun is a good place to hold a major sporting event. You will do so by using the usual means: extolling the weather, the facilities, the amenities available to tourists, the things to do in the Valley and surrounding area, and anything else you can think of that might be persuasive. While part of the project will be to follow traditional production and distribution of paper products, your job is to present this information electronically so that it may be accessed asynchronously by anyone with an internet connection.

You will have several choices in this assignment. You may choose to design the website that will include the information. You may, however, choose to create an audio or video document, that once digitized, might be streamed from a website.

What is important to remember with this task is that once moving into the realm of multimedia, process is extremely important. Websites must be storyboarded as well as written. Audio and video must be scripted before being taped.

In the workplace, documents, whether paper or electronic, are reviewed before being released. For this project, you might be well-served to submit the drafts of your project (website drafts or audio/video scripts) for review to either classmates and/or the instructor.
