There are several opportunities for motivated students who are interested in pursing a Masters or PhD degree in my lab group. Students may electively participate in ongoing projects in my lab or may develop their own research projects.  As examples, below are five current research projects that interested students may consider for their graduate research work.

  • North Desert Village Landscape Experiment: Modeling carbon flows in residential landscapes.
  • Developing quantifiable performance benchmarks for sustainable landscape practices in the desert southwest.
  • Understanding the role of landscape design and urban landscape habitat structure and management on microclimate formation and urban heat riskscapes.
  • Determining the spatial and temporal dynamics of urban invasive species such as Leucaena glauca.
  • Developing irrigation rectification technologies for southwest green roofs.

Please read this letter to those interested in graduate study.  Contact me by phone or email for more information about research opportunities, including those for post docs, graduate and advanced undergraduate students.
