30 December 2009 - Officially, I now have a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Information Technology.  I'm done with school! Of course, now comes the hard part - getting a job, being in my own... in general, surviving without the safety net of my parents.

Truth be told, I'm scared shitless. It's difficult for me to not let everything be so overwhelming that I just completely dissolve into this shivering, blubbering mass. I'm not always successful. Many times I feel like the monetary responsibility of everything - health insurance, rent, food, car insurance, cell phone bill, etc. - is going to come crashing down around me and I will be reduced to living in the streets. But I guess almost every college graduate has that fear, don't they?

It's comforting (most of the time) to know that if that does happen, my parents will be there to kick me in the rear, tell me to get my act together (or else!), and provide a place for me to fall back on until that happens. Not everyone gets that. In fact, the past couple months, this has been something that has occured often to me, and for which I am extremely grateful.

The woman that ran my Weight Watchers meetings this past summer ended each meeting with the mantra "I believe I can do this." I'm trying to apply it. As I take each small step - getting the school loan set up, and the COBRA health plan - it's like I'm proving to myself that yes, I can make it.

Ah, well. 'nuff said... time to join the real world now.

I believe I can do this.

17 November 2009 - I've spent the past couple days playing around with the layout of the whole site, including different colors, but nothing has really struck my fancy. In order to change the background color, I have to change the banner, etc. I'm thinking of redesigning the banner too, since it dates back to when I change my major. And the tables... you know how when you go to a website that's so wide you have to scroll sideways to see it all, and how that's really annoying. Ironic, since mine is probably one of those. :P   I do want to change that; it doesn't do it on my particular computer because I've got laptops, and rectangular, wide screens.

So all of this has been put on hold for the moment, because it's not top priority. I'm more worried about the layout of the spinning and WoW pages, but once I change those and maybe put up a couple more things, I really need to focus on that dreaded senior project, and graduation.

On a side note, since I rearranged the navigation on the home page, I've now spread that change throughout the rest of the site. Oh yea, and I also made ALL the links white, with an underline. It was in preparation for changing the background color, but I like it.

Tomorrow is when my friend Chad and I are going to be taking studio shots of this year's Halloween costume! I'm so excited, and nervous! I'm sure it will turn out fine, though, because the costume looks great. ^_^

12 November 2009 - Updated the resume & added a portfolio page, and moved the navigation around a little bit.

10 November 2009 - Yea, I'm caught up in the whole school thing again. I graduate at the end of the semester... yay. Bottom line is that I've got two big projects - my senior project, and getting a real job, complete with health insurance. Thrills.

So in order for the job thing to happen, I want to have an online portfolio. I do NEED a portfolio, but having it also online is convenient, to say the least. The website will also be going through a little be of a revamp, to make it more "professional." It's not exactly sloppy now, it just may be a little... purple, hehe. :P

I've got several more projects that I intend to add to the projects page. Someone "bribed" me (with horseback riding :P ) into going to a Halloween party, so I've got a new costume. I've also learned how to bind books - that was an adventure!

3 August 2009 - finished typing up the costume, except for pictures. Do that in the next couple days. Haven't done any of the connecting pages yet either. Fixed some navigation issues.

31 July 2009 - Connected the costume page to projects, and added that to the navigation on this home page. I'll do the rest shortly.

Found a more creative way to say the library is still under construction. :)

27 July 2009 - put a professional picture on my resume. Put in a Projects page, even if I haven't put it on the navigation yet. That's where I'll put breakdowns & descriptions of my big projects, which at the moment is my Elven Ranger costume.

I wish I knew how to code a guestbook - maybe I'll learn this fall semester.

24 July 2009 - put the finishing touches on the WoW page, since last month I kind of left off in the middle of a paragraph. I've been busy with other stuff lately, like having my first experiment with digital painting in Photoshop. It's fun. So on my list of stuff to do (eventually) is to take that photo manip of Storm & Star that I've got, and make it mine. Paint myself something similar, or something. I also want to paint myself a little hunter avatar for forums and the sig banners and stuff, because I think the current WoW one looks... strange. If you go look at the character banner for Storm, you'll see what I mean.

Updated the Looking Glass.

I also want to put up a page for some of the costumes I've made, and possibly post the roleplaying stuff we've been doing - finally! My character Nar is so happy to have been dusted off and given a task. :)

Oh yea, and now that I'm actually home, I want to take a picture of the Saxony wheel I have and put it on my spinning page for reference. So much to do, so little time! :(

23 June 2009 - updated links on the Links page and reorganized them. I also went over the WoW page and updated it, along with providing more detailed explantations.

22 June 2009 - First thing I did was change the year of that previous post... hehe.
I've got lots of plans for this website over the summer - an entire page listed in a Word document. But summer is busy, so I get to what I can. I liked what I did with the spinning page so much that I want to do something similar with some of my other projects, as well as moving things around so they're more appropriately categorized, etc.

I also fixed the link for my old website - apparently ASU was trying to look for it within their site, because I had incorrectly done the code.

I've moved some things around and reorganized the navigation: it's been separated into three sections. The top section is "important" stuff. The middle section is meant for projects, current & finished. And the last section is for the links (because it's traditioanlly near the bottom) and the resume (because it's meant to stand out a little). All the links to pages created specifically for my web design class have been moved to the school page and listed with what the assignment originally was. Pages like the WoW & links page have been "archived" there - the originals (more or less) are there, and won't be changed.

20 February 2009 - I've added a page to describe anything & everything about spinning, spinning wheels, and the process of preparing a fleece. Be forewarned: it's a long page, and has quite a few pictures. I've tried to make them as small as possible, but clicking on one will take you to the full size, full resolution picture. Check it out the "Spinning" link over in the navigation.

The previous content of this page (Looking Glass) has been moved here

5 November 2008 - OK. So it's been over a year since I last updated anything on my old website. An update on me? School is good, relationship is good, life is good. There. On to business.

I've decided to move my website mostly over to this place for a couple reasons. 1) It's free, 2) It doesn't have popups (yay), and 3) ASU gives me 4GB of space to fill, at least for as long as I'm a student. Since that's at least for another year, I thought I'd make use of it. There's a couple small differences. The biggest difference is that the last website I created in Dreamweaver using the "design" portion. This one is completely hand-coded in the "code" portion, which means I'm much more proud of it. See my shiny new website? ^_^ That also means that some things are simplified since I haven't figured out how to code them myself yet.

I can't guarantee that "blog" updates will be any more consistent or often than before, or even if there are any. It all depends on what I make the time for.

Yes, there are a bunch of seemingly completely random pages over on my navigation bar. Feel free to explore them. They were done as part of a web design class assignment (all of this website originally was), so maybe eventually I'll move them over to the School section...
