World of Warcraft (also known as WoW) is an MMORPG: Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game.

This means that I play online, with other people around the United States. My boyfriend Cody introduced me to WoW in the fall of 2005; I liked it so much I took over his account and made him get a new one. :P We don't play as much as we used to, because work/school/real life often intervenes. However, we still try and set aside time to spend time together, and when we're living apart when neither has a car (or not the time/money to drive into the city every day) it's a convenient way to go on "dates." It works, just accept that we're weird and move on. :P

This page is a summary of all the statistics of just my main character, Stormwatcher; the rest aren't important enough yet to do something this complex for them. As I'm sure some of you have no idea what this means, I'll do my best to explain things as I go along.

The first table following this little blurb is a list of base stats. The last column on the right will contain brief descriptions of the entry for that row. If you would like to know more about any of them, simply click on the stat itself and it will take you to the corresponding WoW page.

Hunters are deadly marksmen, capable of bringing their enemies down from a distance with bows or rifles. Skilled survivalists, they can track enemies or lay traps to damage and entrap their foes. Hunters also possess a primal connection to the beasts of Azeroth, capable of taming and training them to keep as loyal guardians. Wearing light to medium armor, hunters can also dual wield weapons in combat, fighting beside their pets in battle.

Hunters are valuable to the makeup of a group because of their ability to do immense amounts of damage from a distance. The key word here is ranged; within 5 yards is melee range and too close for our gun or bow. Of course, there are hunters who don't do their "job" and often try to melee monsters. We have a specific title for them: Huntards. :) (My ranged damage is about twice what I can melee)

Pets are almost as vital to a hunter as her bow. A pet is what keeps the attention of the monster, allowing the hunter do distance damage. But there are also different types of pets, as you've seen from the table above. Different pet breeds have different jobs, allowing them to fill different roles just as a character would. Tenacity pets act as a warrior; they have high health & defense, low damage, but they have extra talents to keep the attention of a monster. Ferocity has low armor and high damage, and their talents are used to further increase their damage. Cunning pets are supposedly very versatile, especially in utility & mobility, which makes them favored for player versus player (PvP) fights. Personally, I've always preferred cats, and those are ferocity pets.

"The reclusive Night Elves were the first race to awaken in the World of Warcraft. These shadowy, immortal beings were the first to study magic and let it loose throughout the world nearly ten thousand years before Warcraft I. The Night Elves' reckless use of magic drew the Burning Legion into the world and led to a catastrophic war between the two titanic races. The Night Elves barely managed to banish the Legion from the world, but their wondrous homeland was shattered and drowned by the sea. Until recently, the Night Elves closed themselves off from the rest of the world and remained hidden atop their holy mountain of Hyjal for many thousands of years. The Legion's invasion brought the Night Elves out of their long period of slumber. They now have renewed interest in shaping the world, and for the first time are allying themselves with other races to insure the continued survival of Azeroth. As a race, Night Elves are typically honorable and just, but they are very distrusting of the 'lesser races' of the world. They are nocturnal by nature and their shadowy powers often elicit the same distrust that they have for their mortal neighbors."
