_McDonald & Giles_ © 1970 TRO - Total Music, Inc. (BMI) Originally tabbed by ?????? Re-entered by Christopher Heckman (checkman (AT) math (DOT) asu (DOT) edu) Incorporating information from Andrew Keeling and "Phoenix" This one has an interesting story ... a few years ago, when I found the tab for these songs, I downloaded it and printed them out, my usual procedure. Recently, someone asked tab for songs off of this album, and I was unable to find the original source. I decided to re-enter everything by hand and post it all as a cohesive unit. Searching on the website, I found the lyrics. (I'm not a masochist, after all!!!) They disagree with the ones in the original tab. I've tried to pick the ones that fit best, sticking with the original ones when in doubt. Someone named "Phoenix" listened to the lyrics, which is part of the website http://www.4eigner.net/themusic/mg1970.html . Another bonus that I found was Andrew Keeling's analysis of this album. He has done analyses for a lot of King Crimson's albums (which is how I heard of him in the first place) and has even transcribed a few. His analysis tended more often to add to the tab than contradict it. He also has broken some of the pieces (especially "Suite In C" and "Birdman") down by section, and I have incorporated his analysis in with the tab. His full analysis can be found at http://www.andrewkeeling.ukf.net/Keeling-McDonaldandGiles.html . And since I'm thanking people who helped, thanks to the original transcriber! If you see this, please let me know, since I want to give you credit as well. Since this tablature came from several different sources, some of it may be wrong, or combined incorrectly. This is mainly due to the fact that I (unfortunately!) do not own the album itself. I suspect that if I did own it, it would have taken much longer to get all the tab assembled. So, in closing, I'd like to say the usual things: You should view this file with Courier (or your favorite fixed-width font); when riffs are listed at the beginning, they're not actually played there; no copyright infringement or anything along that line was intended; and if you want to post this tab on a website, please remember to mention all the people involved. But you all knew that anyway, didn't you? -- Christopher "HeKcman" Heckman ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1.
