My name is Christy Baker and I am a senior SESE geological sciences major at ASU.
As a non-traditional returning student, I have a varied educational and professional
background which lead me back to resuming my education.
Education and Career
After graduating high school, I studied veterinary science at The University of Arizona
from 1992-1996 and was a member of the women's track and field team. I initially had
plans to attend veterinary school, until learning that I was allergic to cats after
working in clinics. At some point, I managed to become an accountant and had a 12 year
long career. I always enjoyed geological sciences and longed to resume my education and
pursue my next passion in this field. Eventually, I took the chance to return and left
my unfulfilling career as an accountant behind.
