Channing studies journalism at Arizona State University. He attends the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, studying to earn a BA in Journalism and a combined Master's of Mass Communication. In addition, Channing is earning a Minor in Political Science and a Politics, Philosophy and Law Certificate.

Channing has interned for the photo/multimedia department of The Washington Post Digital, covered breaking news at The Arizona Republic, and worked as a full-time reporter and opinion columnist for The State Press, ASU's college newspapers. He has experience writing for print and web publications, as well as webpage design, photo production, and photo editing. Channing can work with Photoshop, Dreamweaver, content management systems, and basic HTML and CSS.

In his free time, Channing enjoys hiking, reading, writing, and music. He also plays the jazz saxophone and keyboard.
