  • Career Magazine
    A great place to search for jobs and recruiters or to post your resume. Helpful articles about every field, including writing. Articles provide tips and suggestions on how to make yourself more marketable to potential employers.
  • Community Newspaper Holdings
    A Birmingham, Ala.-based chain of small dailies and weeklies. Generally low-paying jobs but could provide a start for someone with little experience.
  • Cox
    Navigate to jobs with Cox Communications broadcast stations or Cox Newspapers, which include the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

    Jobs at Gannett’s newspapers, broadcast stations, press operations and related businesses. Gannett owns more newspapers than any other U.S. corporation and updates its newspaper jobs weekly.
  • Getthatgig
    The best site for finding magazine internships. Lists internships at more than 35 magazines or magazine publishers.

  • J-Jobs Digest
    Weekly postings of journalism jobs and internships.
  • Joblink for Journalists
    You can search by industry, position, specialty, experience, education, salary, region, etc.
  • Journalism Now
    Specializes in journalism employment and news, with daily postings by employers regarding jobs and internships. Users can upload their resumes.
  • McClatchy
    Jobs at the daily and weekly newspapers owned by McClatchy, owners of the Sacramento (Calif.) Bee, the Raleigh (N.C.) News & Observer, the Anchorage (Alaska) Times and former Knight Ridder newspapers, such as the Miami Herald and Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
  • McMurry
    Lists jobs—mostly for copy editors, technical editors and proofreaders—offered on the Web site of McMurry Newsletters, which publishes the newsletter Copy Editor. Many of the jobs are in book publishing, newsletter publishing and magazine work.
  • Media General
    Company that owns The Tampa Tribune, the Richmond (Va.) Times-Dispatch, other newspapers and several TV stations.
  • Mediabistro
    Journalism jobs around the country. Especially good for magazine jobs. Updated weekly.
  • Morris Communications
    Based in Georgia, this privately held company owns several newspapers in the South, Midwest and West. Flagships are the Augusta Chronicle in Georgia and the Florida Times-Union in Jacksonville.
  • Multimedia Employment
    This site enables you to find multimedia jobs, compare salaries in specific regions and sign up for an e-mail service that will send you a list of jobs that fit your needs. This site can also help you build your resume.
  • New York Times
    Jobs at The New York Times and the companies it owns, including The Boston Globe and several small newspapers in the South.
  • Scripps
    Jobs at Scripps newspapers—the largest is the Rocky Mountain News in Denver—and TV stations as well as at its TV cable channels, including Home and Garden TV and the Food Network.
  • Tribune Co.
    Click on “Proceed to Job Search” to get a form that will help you locate jobs with the Tribune Co., owner of the Chicago Tribune, Los Angeles Times, Orlando Sentinel, South Florida Sun-Sentinel and Newsday.
  • Washington Post
    Listing of internal jobs and internships. On the home page, find the link at the bottom of the page in the very small type that says “Work for us” and click it.
  • Writers Market
    Log on or subscribe to this Writer’s Market sister site to find a comprehensive listing of literary agents as well as book and magazine markets and more.
