MAKING A GOOGLE MAPS MASHUP

• Create a URL where your map will be displayed.
  
  
• Go to http://www.google.com/apis/maps/ to sign up for a Google Maps API key. You need to have a Google account to do this. Both are free. Copy the whole key when it is generated, then paste into a text file for further use.

• Go to http://www.batchgeocode.com to generate latitudes and longitudes for the addresses you want to map. Use Excel to put your data in the format described, then save as a tab-delimited text file. Copy the text file, then paste into the window. Validate source, then make any necessary selection in Step 4. Click “Run Geocoder”. Right click on result, Select All, Copy, then Paste into a text file.
