    Mission:

The objective of this page is to facilitate MBA students, accounting students, and others in their efforts to learn how recent activity cost management, business process improvement, and information technology developments may help organizations make "better" decisions, improve business processes, and create competitive advantage. Modern managerial accounting is now a rapidly changing field, and this and other web pages may help us keep up with developments and disseminate good ideas. Facilitating active learning strategies and helping students develop their www/internet skills are also objectives.

    Visitors:

I hope the managerial, accounting, research, and MBA links I have collected here are useful and interesting. I would appreciate receiving your comments and suggestions. I am looking for managers, consultants and accouting practioners who might be willing to provide current problem materials, help develop case examples, or moderate internet discussions on emerging issues. If you have current business experience and are interested in helping students understand current developments in this field, send me a note.

    Students:

Congratulations, you are the first class to have the opportunity of learning managerial accounting using my new www homepage. This homepage will be our activity driver for class. I will project learning materials from it during class, and you can return to the slides and documents after class for further study. You should configure viewers so your netscape software will load .doc and .ppt files. Planf on browsing the page at least weekly as I am adding new material as fast as I can. If you do not have Powerpoint, MS Word6, or Accrobat you may download freeware viewers here: powerpoint viewer for ppt files, or MSWord6 viewer for doc files, oracrobat reader for pdf files. The Managerial Accounting Homepage will allow you to obtain current news bulletins, download slides or handouts, check on current assignments, obtain up to date course information, class notes, handouts, and benefit from useful links for research . These homepage links can accelerate your developing www navigation skills and support learning managerial accounting in many new ways. I will ask you to periodically submit annotated bookmark lists to document your travels on the www so save them as you explore. This page is still under development and I hope you will let me know about problems and make suggestions for improvements. This electronic approach is a big re-engineering of this course, so you can expect some things will not work on the first try, but with your help we will fix them and improve the process.
