Policy on Missing and/or Late Assignments:
All students are expected to hand in assignments on the day they are due and to participate in class discussions and in-class peer reviews. The latter are not graded but you are awarded credit for them that will be factored into your class participation grade at the end of the semester.
If a first or second draft is late, you may still receive credit for it. However, you will lose one letter grade for each three days it is handed in beyond the due date on the syllabus. That is, I will grade it and then deduct one letter grade from the grade it should have received. If you are sick and absent on the day your assignment is due, you may send it to me as an attachment to email. Otherwise, you should hand it in the next class period. If it is an ungraded first draft that is late, the paper grade will be reduced when the second draft is completed and graded. If you do not hand it in at all, you will be awarded an "E" grade for the assignment. If you are missing from class on a day when we are doing peer reviews, you will not get credit for having done the peer reviews without a documented excuse (medical or otherwise).
