My Web Projects
Society for Archaeological Sciences The Society for Archaeological Sciences (SAS) was founded to establish a forum for communication among scholars applying methods from the physical sciences to archaeology and to aid the broader archaeological community in assessing the potentials and problems of those methods.
I began working as web designer and content manager with Arleyn Simon since early 2005.
Secular Freethought Society This local campus group was founded by Gerda de Klerk, a long-time pal. She was angered by the blatant misuse of science and the education of children at the hands of politicians and religious extremists. Gerda gathered all of her like-minded friends together in an effort to organize a discussion group on campus. My small contribution is to provide web development and content management for the organization.
Archaeological Research Institute (ARI).
I have been web designer and content manager for this site since at least AD 2000. This was my first web project and trained for web design while a Research Associate at ARI.
ArchNet ARI became home to ArchNet several years ago. I have been the content manager since its transfer from University of Connecticut. The current version of the ArchNet website is a major improvement over the original version due to our change from a complete html coded set of references pages into a php driven database and set of live queries. I have been developing the web design and Alanna Ossa built the database and page queries.
Graduate Professional Student Association (GPSA) That other organization the eats up some of my time. I spent over a year organizing and updating the site. The association has taken that initial project and continued to maintain the site for student use.
Mimbres Lives & Landscapes This online web exhibit outlines materials presented exhibit featured at the Museum of Anthropolgy at Arizona State University. This onine exhibit is bilinguial (Spanish) and is accompanied by a K-12 manual for classroom reference. The contents are based upon materials provided by the exhibit curators.
Flat Stanley and his visit to Tempe, Arizona. Stanley was a visitor sent to ARI from a grade school student in Oklahoma. Stanley was drawn by a student, Edie, working at ARI. Stanley then helped out with the Archaeology Expo in Mesa, Arizona. He also went with me to visit a few archaeological sites and tours of ARI and the Mesa Southwest Museum. I arranged this web page with photos and had Stanley help to explain a bit about Arizona Prehistory. This is aimed at K-12 audience - but it is fun for all!
MEC 2005 PowerPoint Presentation. View the Power Point Presentation that I co-authored with Kim Savage, the public outreach manager for ARI. This was our second year presenting at the Microcomputers in Education annual conference at ASU. This presenation is targeted to K-12 education professionals.
Phoenix Paleoecology Project (PPP). This is a collaborative research initiative between IGERT and ARI. The project has resulted in student papers, the first of which is featured on this page and is a two part poster presentation that I share authorship with Steve Swanson and Cathryn Meegan.
Association of Anthropology Graduate Students (AAGS). I have been the content manager for the AAGS website for a number of years. The redesign on the AAGS website is under way.
