1. If you use another browser besides Internet Explorer, you may skip, if you wish, to step 7.

2. If you use Internet Explorer, upon clicking on the link to invoke TXTREF2RIS.exe on your PC, you will get the following message:

3. If you click either Run or Save, you will get the following warning:

4. This warning appears because I am a person, not a corporation, and I am giving this tool away for free (with no ads, requests for donations or any other monkey business). But WAIT, before closing down (clicking Delete) as quickly as possible and fleeing my site (and I admit that is what I would do, fearing viruses or malware), there IS a way you can comfort yourself that this is for real and won’t harm your computer (in addition to trusting ASU, the hosting site, and me—you can check me out on Google). Here's how: Click Tools, SmartScreen Filter, Check this website:

5. You will get this message that the site does NOT contain threats, and you should check the address.

6. Here’s the address you will see on the address bar of your browseer (note that it says ASU, which wouldn't let me distribute malware).

7. So, reassured, now you can proceed to invoke the TXTREF2RIS program I wrote by again clicking the link, then Run or Save.

8. On Internet Explorer, you will get one of the following two messages:

9. Note that the second version doesn't even give you the opportunity to Run anyway. But also note that it DOES provide the "More Options" dropdown, which, if you click, will result in the screen looking as the version on the left above, providing the opportunity to Run anyway.

10. You can now safely click Run anyway, which will invoke my TXTREF2RIS Install program. From this point on, all is pretty obvious. You will receive this window:

11. Click Next. You will see this:

12. Click Next. You will see this:

13. Click Start. You will see this:

14. I recommend against checking the Launch box, and just clicking Next. You will get this:

15. Click Exit.

16. You will see the following icon on your desktop.

You can click it whenever you want to start TXTREF2RIS. Alternatively, it might be on your start bar or may be invoked by Start, All Programs, TXTREF2RIS, then TXTREF2RIS again.
