Web-Based IT Resources
I've put together a number of links to resources that
are either campus-based (where you can turn
for help if I'm not available, or it's a question that falls outside my
purview), or web-based. These resources are meant to help you find answers
to some of your common questions, ranging from network and e-mail-related
to simple web tutorials, &c.
If I've missed a topic or area that you find particularly
troublesome, please let me know, and I will try to find a campus-based
resource, where you may find further assistance.

and download to a server, or to your ASU webspace. A nice tutorial on
using Secure FTP.
Microsoft
Word and the Web - What!?! You mean, I can use Microsoft Word to
create a single webpage?? The answer is "YES"! If all you
want to do is turn a single, stand-alone document into a document that
you can deliver over the web, then using MS Word's "Save as webpage..."
command might be just the thing for you. Click on the link for a tutorial.
This tutorial for Word 97 is from Bradford College, and should work
with Word 2000 as well.
If you plan on using Microsoft Word to create web
pages, you may want to download the Office
2000 HTML Filter 2.0, which allows you to remove Office-specific
markup tags embedded in Office 2000 documents saved as Hypertext Markup
Language (HTML). By removing the tags, you reduce the size of the document,
which in turn reduces both the amount of space used on Web servers as
well as the time it takes to download the page.
