The Crust day was innaugurated on December of 2007, with the purpose of gathering all the people at the Arizona State University somehow interested in  or working on biological soil crusts.

The idea of the Crust day was originally conceived in the mind of Ferran Garcia-Pichel, and brough to life by the hard work of Ruth Potrafka.
The Crust day is a one-day meeting filled with presentations, short talks, discussions, announcements... and of course a neat breakfast and lunch.
