05/04 The Solutions to Test 4 are now available at the
      Noble Library Copy Center.

04/29 In studying for Test 4, you do not need to study
question 7 on Old Test 5; we did not cover the
specific heats of diatomic gases this year.

04/16 The Solutions to Test 3 are now available at the
      Noble Library Copy Center.

04/09 In preparation for our test on Tuesday, my
Monday office hours will be extended. Instead
of the usual hours of 3-5 PM, I will be available
from 3-8 PM to answer your questions about
      ROTATION, SPRINGS, and WAVES.

04/09 The program automatically changed us over to
Daylight Savings Time, which caused us some
problems with HW17 on Thursday night. What I
have done is to make HW17 "Past due but
accessible". This means that your numbers will
not be changed, but your submitted work will
be marked "Late", i.e it will appear in red in
your gradebook. Don't worry though, you will
receive full credit for these points. HW17 will
continue to be accessible until Sat. night at
11PM. If you have more questions, please send
      me an email.

03/13 The Solutions to Test 2 are now available at the
      Noble Library Copy Center.

03/12 My email is now restored (1 PM Fri).

03/11 Due to a computer failure, my email is suffering
a disruption beginning at about 8 PM TH night.
I will put a note here as soon as it is restored,
hopefully by Fri afternoon. If you have sent email
to me during the disruption, you may need to resend
it to insure that I receive it. Thanks. GBA

03/04 My office hours on Monday 3/8 will be expanded.
Instead of the usual hours of 3-5 PM, I will be
available from 3-8 PM to answer your questions
about the FORCE, ENERGY, and MOMENTUM perspectives
      on DYNAMICS.

02/27 Many students seem to be having trouble with the
DEF of work because they do not understand what
is meant by "the component of vector A in the
direction of vector B". If you are one of those
students, here is a little exercise which should
      help you figure it out.

02/13 The Solutions to Test 1 are now available at the
Noble Library Copy Center. Please use these to
check the grading of your test, and to debug your
understanding of the ideas covered by Test 1.
You will need these ideas from Chapters 1-4 if
you are to grasp the new ideas which are to
      follow in the coming weeks.

02/08 My office hours on Monday 2/9 will be expanded.
Instead of the usual hours of 3-5 PM, I will
be available from 3-8 PM to answer your questions
      about KINEMATICS and NEWTON'S LAWS.

02/05 There was a misprint in the original version
of Required Reading #6. The Newton unit was
given incorrectly. The Newton (N) is correctly
      given by

                 1 N = 1 kg m/s²

The error has now been corrected.

02/05 PRS and quiz grades are now posted. Please
check to make sure your PRS scores are being
recorded. There are 3 students entering PRS
answers who have not registered their
      transmitters.

02/03 The PHY111 email list is now active. If you
did not receive an email today, please check
the status of your ASU email account. Make
sure that your quota has not been exceeded by
undeleted mail and that all email is being
forwarded to your favorite destination. You
can set this up at EMMA.

02/03 My Friday office hour is now set from 1:40-3:30
in PSF-462. Hopefully, this is now set for the
semester. Please do come to my office hours.
So far this resource has been highly underused.

01/30 The Old Tests, with solutions, are now available
in the Noble Library Copy Center.

01/22 Change to Office Hours. Scheduling conflicts in
PSF-462 mean that the Wed office hour must be
moved to Friday. It is currently set on Fri from
2:40-4:00 in PSF-462. We may be able to move to
      1:40-3:00 later in the semester.

01/22 There was some confusion about how to determine
your 9-digit PRS number if there were less than
9 digits on the back of your clicker. Hopefully,
we have now got that straightened out. The new
      instructions are here.
