MTC 437 Max Challenge #7:
Pedal Looping
Due date: Wednesday, April 22, 2009
Objective:
The objective of this assignment is to construct a real-time recording and looping environment in which sounds are recorded when a footpedal is depressed and played back on a continual loop when the footpedal is released.
Specific Requirements:
1. The sound must come directly through with no delay.
2. There must be the capability to layer 2 simultaneous loops.
3. The only control for this patch is a footpedal. If you wish, a simple toggle may be substituted for the footpedal in your patcher.
4. The initial input and the final outputs must have volume control sliders.
5. The patch must be user-friendly!
Suggestions:
1. You should be able to accomplish all of this with a limited number of objects.
The primary objects will be the buffer~/record~/groove combination needed to record and play back in real time.
2. You might consider using the above combination as the basis of 2 separate modules which alternate whenever you toggle/footpedal the operation.
Format:
1. Patch labeled "The Loop" in your folder on the hard drive.
Grading:
Will be based on the workability and economy of the patch.
