I have worked at ASU since the spring of 1984 and have witnessed many exciting developments in computing during my time here. I first came to Computing Services in the Instructional Support group, bringing with me several years of IBM mainframe, DEC minicomputer, and microcomputer experience.
I supported academic computing on minicomputers and microcomputers.
I worked in the Liaison & Planning Group for a couple of years, working with several colleges to find ways for Academic Computing Services to meet their needs. I planned for, and coordinated, the remodeling and contruction of several computing labs on campus.
I then spent a year and a half working coordinating support of Macintosh computer labs.
Life began anew with my assignment to the College of Architecture and Environmental Science, where I stayed for 3 years, supporting the computer network, puchasing computers, assisting faculty and students with computer usage, and teaching computer classes.
I also worked with the College of Nursing for about a year and a half supporting computing. During this time we developed a strategic plan for computing within the college.
I now work in ACIT, which supports the administrative computing of the university. I have worked with web applications and am currently working with Coeus, a system for management of research proposals and grants.
Since 1990, I have taught evening classes at various campuses of the Maricopa County Community College District. I have taught Pascal, C++ programming, Access database and Java programming.
