Brief Bio

I am currently a visiting scholar at LIDS, MIT working with Prof. Asuman E. Ozdaglar. I am also working with Prof. Anna Scaglione and Prof. Angelia Nedich as a Postdoctoral Scholar. I received my B. Eng (with first class Honor) and M. Phil. from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, working with Prof. Wing-kin (Ken) Ma in Spring 2010 and 2012, respectively, and my PhD degree from Arizona State University in Fall 2017. Previously, I have held research/visiting positions at Télécom ParisTech, Ecole Polytechnique, working with Prof. Eric Moulines and at UC Davis.

My PhD dissertation has received the 2017's Dean's Dissertation Award at ASU's Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering [Coverage on Full Circle]. I am interested in research on:

  • Network Science and in particular the Network Topology Inference Problem
  • Optimization theory applied to machine learning and signal processing, including distributed optimization
  • I will be joining the Department of Systems Engineering and Engineering Management of Chinese University of Hong Kong as an Assistant Professor from December 2018. I am looking for motivated students interested in working with network data or optimization theory. Contact me if you are interested in working with me.
