Brief Bio

I am currently working with Prof. Anna Scaglione and Prof. Angelia Nedich as a Postdoctoral Scholar. I received my B. Eng (with first class Honor) and M. Phil. from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, working with Prof. Wing-kin (Ken) Ma in Spring 2010 and 2012, respectively, and my PhD degree from Arizona State University in Fall 2017. I was a visiting PhD student at Télécom ParisTech from May to October 2015, working with Prof. Eric Moulines and at LIDS, MIT from May to August 2017, working with Prof. Asuman E. Ozdaglar.

My research interests lie in the area of optimization theory, machine learning and signal processing, with the focus on their applications to network science. My PhD dissertation has received the 2017's Dean's Dissertation Award at ASU's Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering [Coverage on Full Circle].

I will be joining the Department of Systems Engineering and Engineering Management of Chinese University of Hong Kong as an Assistant Professor from December 2018.

Recent News

  • Apr. 2018: Our paper, "Community Detection from Low Rank Excitations of a Graph Filter" (with Santiago, Asu, Anna and Ali), has received a "Best Student Paper Award" at IEEE ICASSP 2018 this year!
  • Apr. 2018: I am visiting University of Minnesota from Apr. 8 to Apr. 15, hosted by Prof. Mingyi Hong. From April 22, I will be visiting Ecole Polytechnique until June, hosted by Prof. Eric Moulines.
