Translation number 6 (week six):

This is a report, made by agents of Nicholas II’s secret police, about the activities of Grigorii E. Rasputin, influential monk and advisor to the imperial family.

Sept. 9: “When Rasputin was located as a guest at his brother Nikolai Rasputin’s and here also were several other persons, Rasputin’s father arrived there also and began to curse his son Grigorii in the most obscene words.   Rasputin, like a rabid dog, jumped up from the table, pushed his father out into the yard, dragged him to the ground and took to beating him with his fists.   The father cried out: “Don’t beat me, villain!”   They had to be separated by force.   After an examination there turned out to be on the father a beaten-up eye with a huge bruise so that it closed the entire eye.   Having gotten himself right again, the old man started to revile his son even more strongly, threatening him to tell everyone that he only knew to grab Dunia (the servant girl) by the soft parts.   After this it was necessary to restrain Rasputin by force from a second assault upon his father.   They were both drunk.”
