ROGER'S WEB SITE - DAD'S FAREWELL PARTY

99thOur Dad, Marty Seldeen, died in the 100th year of his life on February 16th, 2015 with three of his four surviving daughters beside him. He had celebrated his 99th birthday (see left) only two months before and we fully expected to convene the following December to wish him a happy 100. But it was not to be, as a massive infection took him down. He may not have lived to be a centenarian, but he was a Centurion in the Legion of Life. We have written about him in his online Washington Post Guest Book. Please add your thoughts if you wish.

On March 27th we had a celebration of his life at his home in Silver Spring. All his daughters and their families attended along with the last surviving member of his generation - his brother-in-law Sheldon. Several nieces, nephews and grandchildren came, a neighbor, and his lawyers who have known him for years. Sheila, his cleaner, muse and comic relief was there. His chief caregivers Arthur and Kevin came, along with Debbie Besmen his long-serving business assistant whom we have now adopted as an honorary family member along with her husband, Bruce, who was a tower of strength in Dad's last years, constantly fixing stuff around the house.

Below are some of the snapshots I took at his Farewell Party. I apologize for not capturing everybody equally well, too often or not at all. Click on any image to ENLARGE.
