THE ARIZONA CODES PROJECT
 
 

The Arizona CODES Project is a project of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at ASU. It is sponsored by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

 
     
 

In 2003

 1118 people died in motor vehicle related crashes in Arizona and 71,901 people were injured. A total number of 246,538 vehicles were involved: including 164,052 passenger cars; 2,461 motorcycles; 823 buses; and 71,813 trucks.

 

 

 

 

 

   
 

Pedestrians: 123 pedestrians were killed and 1,374 injured

  Motorcyclists: 111 motorcyclists were killed and 1,894 injured

  Pedal Cyclists: 15 pedal cyclists were killed and 1,307 injured
