The Arizona CODES Project is a project of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at ASU. It is sponsored by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The Arizona CODES Board of Directors

The Arizona CODES Project Board of Directors (BOD) plays an important role in the CODES Project. Each member represents one of the data owners in the project. Each member has veto power regarding data requests to the Arizona CODES Project. The preliminary BOD held their first meeting on December 15th, 2003. The CODES Project Team is currently identifying additional potential members for the BOD. The following organizations are currently represented on the Arizona CODES Board of Directors (current representatives are listed in brackets)*:

  • Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Arizona State University:- Chairman: Prof. Simon Washington, and Ida van Schalkwyk

  • Arizona Governors' Office for Highway Safety (Richard Fimbres)

  • Arizona Department of Health Science: Statewide Traumatic Brain Injury Surveillance Program (Ardis Decker);Bureau of Health Statistics: Discharge Data (Donna Cox), Bureau of Health Statistics (Tim Flood); Public Health Services: Child Fatality Review Program (Robert Schackner/ Susan Newberry)

  • Arizona Department of Transportation (Jim Williams)

  • Arizona: Motor Vehicle Division (to be determined)

  • University of Arizona Medical Center: Trauma Coordinator (Dan Judkins)
