Arizona State University Faculty Achievement Award for Excellence in Teaching Performance, 2007

The inaugural Faculty Achievement Awards 2007, ASU’s own version of the Oscars, took place at an April 24 celebration in the ASU Art Museum. Emceed by Provost Capaldi, the event honored ASU faculty members selected for excellence in four general areas: Scholarly and Creative Activities, Teaching/Instruction, Design Imperative for the New American University, and Service. Nineteen awards were conferred, including Defining Edge Research, Teaching Performance, Student Mentoring, Most Significant Invention, and Best Art Work. As each etched glass award was presented, President Crow and the honoree’s dean spoke about the faculty member and the work that led to the award. Deans will be nominating faculty for the next award cycle in spring 2008.
