Cheryl J. Craig, Ph.D., is a Professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, College of Education, University of Houston, where she coordinates the Teaching and Teacher Education program area and is the Head of Elementary Education. Craig works closely with individual teachers and teacher research groups in her inquiries. Her research niche centers on the influence of context, most especially school reform, on teachers' knowledge developments and their communities of knowing. Craig has authored several handbook chapters and is a regular contributor to such journals as Teaching and Teacher Education, Teachers College Record, and American Educational Research Journal. Her book, Narrative Inquiries of School Reform, was published in 2003 (Information Age Publishing). Craig is the current co-editor of the following Association of Teacher Educators' Yearbooks: International Research on the Impact of Accountability Systems (Rowman & Littlefield, 2007), Imagining a Renaissance in Teacher Education (Rowman & Littlefield, 2008), Teacher Learning in Small Group Settings (Rowman & Littlefield, 2000), and Cultivating Curious and Creative Minds: The Role of Teachers and Teacher Educators (Rowman & Littlefield, 2010). Craig is the recipient of her College's research, teaching, and collaboration awards and a Past-President of the American Association of Teaching and Curriculum.
