Jessica writes for the online news source, CollegeNews.com. At College News, she objectively reports on current news, while providing the outlook of a college student. Additionally, she has been published in The State Press, ASU's newspaper, and Arcadia News, the local newspaper for Phoenix's Arcadia community.
Some of the topics Jessica has covered include local Phoenix artists as well as international artists, Teach For America, The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center in South Phoenix, a high school bomb threat, waterboarding, the current economic situation for current students and college graduates, religion in the U.S., the swine flu, taxpayer tea parties, and a column on job interview tips, among others.
Jessica will begin writing breaking news for The Arizona Republic on AZCentral.com in August 2009.
Jessica has a sincere passion for photography and hopes to encompass this love into her journalistic pursuits. She feels that visually capturing a moment is just as important as telling the story with words. She does her best to do so, while utilizing artistic composition and appeal.
Outside school and work, Jessica can usually be found spending time with her family and dog. Some of her favorite hobbies aside from writing and photography are bicycling, reading, and collecting antiques and old photographs.
