Surveillance robots are robots designed specifically for the aim of patrolling and navigating areas of interest. To serve this purpose, they must be able to adapt to an environment, function autonomously, and provide an increased level of efficiency. Oftentimes equipped with wide variety of sensors such as touch, sonar, thermal, and optical sensors that identify environmental deviations or conditional variables.
The purpose of this project was to create a functional multi-feature distributed security robot and demonstrate the feasibility of constructing and independent robotics system without the use of design-specific hardware.
