• Assume x << 0.100

• x2/0.100 = 7.0 x 10-4

• x2 = 7.0 x 10-5

• x = 8.4 x 10-3, which is 8% of initial concentration, so assumption was not very good, and we must solve the quadratic equation.

• (x)(x)/(0.100 - x) = 7.0 x 10-4

• x2 = 7.0 x 10-5 - 7.0 x 10-4 x
